Can I have my SBLI premiums paid automatically from my checking account?

Yes. Policyholders can take advantage of SBLI's Automatic Payment Plan which electronically debits premium payments from your checking account. The transaction will appear on your monthly statement from the bank. Use of this feature eliminates check writing for the policyowner. To add the Automatic Payment Plan to your policy:
Complete the required Automatic Payment Plan form to add this feature. The completed form must be signed by the policyowner and returned to our office accompanied by a cancelled or voided check.

Note: When contacting our call center, you will be requested to provide positive verbal identification as a policyowner.

Why did the premium go up?

If you notice an increase in premium, in most cases this means your policy is a form of Term Insurance or contains a Term Rider. The premiums for term insurance can increase every year or periodically based on the type of plan.

The policy provisions illustrating premium increases can be found in your policy. It should also include a schedule of renewal premiums which can be used to calculate future premium costs.

Note: When contacting our call center, you will be requested to provide positive verbal identification as a policyowner.
